The NEOS Server has had a tremendous impact in the field of optimization, extending the
reach of a wide selection of fundamental algorithms to a growing number of new applications
areas. The influence of NEOS is such that in many applied fields the NEOS Server is
synonymous with optimization.
An on-going software project like NEOS involves the efforts of many people and
we hope the numerous contributors to NEOS will take pride in sharing this
award with the prize winners.
